Postpartum bleeding?

It's been 4 weeks since I've given birth and I'm still bleeding, which I know is to be expected but the other day it was brown but today it turned dark red again. I thought once it turned brown it meant it was about to stop. Is it normal for it to go back and fourth between red and brown or maybe I started my period? Seems kind of soon for that.

go get an ultrasound done. mine died down abit then started back up at 2 weeks pp as fresh blood (bright red) and kept bleeding until i had a d&c to remove the placental tissue left behind in my uterus.

Nope, totally normal. I'm 3w pp & I've had brown, red, brown again, orange, pink, some days nothing at all and I get my hopes up lol

Sometimes it can mean sign on infection or that there is something left behind in your uterus. I had this at 2 weeks and had an ultrasound - they found left behind placenta. It was accompanied by a lot of pain. Hopefully this helps.
