Sleep paralysis or something more sinister?
For as long as I can remember I have had this issue. Middle of the night restroom need , unable to move for around aprox. 3 minutes. I can see the vague outline of furnishings and I can hear. Apparently I can sense movement too...
This has happened once a week or so every week for my entire existance , I'm used to hearing a whispering noise, Directly after waking like people talking but I'm unable to make out the words, Right after waking. It's never scared me , because it's always just felt normal.
Tonight , as per usual. My bladder decides we need to go. NOW. I can't move. So I opened my eyes and stared at the ceiling , waiting on the inability to move to pass. I felt movement beside me, as if my husband were rolling over. He was and is downstairs playing his xbox. Then it happened...
I cant turn my head but I feel someone close. "I wasn't finished yet, be a good girl and go back to sleep" the voice was deep but so quiet it was barely decipherable. This is only 2 minutes into my ordeal, I knew I had roughly a minute left. So I couldn't turn my head to see what the origin of the voice was.
My blood ran cold. I knew this wasn't my husband instantly. If I had been able to move, I wouldn't have. I have a strong feeling I don't want to see what or who was talking to me. I could smell the stale odor of breath on my face, and feel the closeness of skin.
I then felt the bed move, as if my husband was getting up. Let me make this clear: he was not in the bed! Then I could move.
I checked the alarm. I checked the motion cameras. Nothing. My husband is still downstairs on his xbox. I texted him to see when he was coming to bed.
What is your input? Is this sleep paralysis or have I been victim to something using my body in another means for all of these years? This is the first time I have ever experienced anything that has ever scared me. My temporary paralysis dosent, because it's happened to me forever. I have just accepted the fact that sometimes, I'm gonna lay there and have to pee really really flipping bad for 3 minutes , Until I Can go.
I had had sleep studies to check for a Neuro issue. All clear. I am told it happens to me because I wake up in the middle of Rem sleep and my body dosent have the slow transition to awakening as most people do. I go directly from deep deep sleep, to BAM I'm awake. I've been prescribed sleep aids and various psychiatric medicines to try to rectify the occurances to no avail. It's just my "normal" .
For the record, no, I haven't ever wet the bed. Waiting. I have however vomited on myself during the stomach flu once, unable to make a mad dash for the toilet. It was horrible. I had to lay in my own vomit for 3 minutes.
Forgive the obvious grammar and spelling issues. I'm half asleep and clearly shaken.
