Baby Bear is here

Claire
I just want to say thank you to everyone on here do all their support and endless question answering. As a FTM I've really appreciated all your help. I was induced Monday night the day before my due date. Contractions started around 4:30am on Tuesday 24th May.  As soon as they became painful I had an epidural. The anestheologist was amazing and I didn't feel any contractions after that. I was very quickly fully dilated. Pushed for an hour and a quarter which honestly I think was probably a lot harder to gage what I was doing because of the epidural but I was still very grateful for it. Unfortunately I hurt my neck pushing. The dr recommended forceps. She was amazing - so gentle with them - and after 2 pushes using the forceps Bear arrived. We stayed in hospital 2 more nights and honestly the thing I really didn't t know about was the aftermath. I have hemorrhoids, stitches and when my milk came in engorged breasts. And Baby Bear is nocturnal! I had no idea how hard the first few days would be following his birth. And I'm amazed by all the women who've had children how they manage - women are amazing!
I also can't believe how much I already love Bear.  He's so wonderful.  Here's a few photos. Good luck to all you ladies still waiting to have your babies and those who are working through those first days and weeks.
