Skipping the last week of the pack?

So,i have to travel a long distance on the 8th for a drs appointment, and my period is supposed to start soon before that. Would it be bad to skip the last week in the pack and just go straight to the next pack? Will bleeding still occur, because I've been on this particular BC control since February, and I'm back to regular periods. I just don't want to travel suxh a long way on my period. It's gives me anxiety anyway going down there!
