So I was at risk for depression before I even gave birth. I ended up moving across the country before being able to get my six week check up. When I finally did get it, my daughter was already 5 months old. I told the doctor I saw that I had been feeling incredibly anxious and it was making me depressed. She just asked if I was nursing, and I said yes. She then proceeded to tell me that it was normal because I was nursing and it will be until I wean. I tried to ask about medication but to no avail. She just brushed me off and told me that no medication is known to be safe, it has not been studied. So I left with no help. No therapist referral, no medication, nothing. I tried to get my daughter to take a bottle, but she won't. My daughter is going to be 8 months and I'm starting to feel so much worse. The bill for my last appointment was so high that I'm wary to go back in just to get brushed off again. Idk what to do. :|
