FTM will baby come early?

Question

I had my 35 week check up and my OBGYN said he definitely isn't going to be a 6lb baby. That scared me to death! I'm not a very big person so I fear having a huge baby. If he is big already will I go into labor sooner? My due date is Dec. 23. My anxiety has been through the roof!

At 35 weeks most babies weigh about 6 pounds and the avarage weight is 7.5lbs for a new born. The size of your body doesn't really matter a woman is made to have babies.

That doesn't mean you will go any sooner unless the reason is due to gestational diabetes. I had my first one week overdue and he was 9lbs 11oz and my second was 5 days over and was 10lbs 10oz. They can really only guess at sizes and they didn't even believe mine were big, their estimates can be off by about a pound. I would try to relax and let nature take it's course. Good luck!
