How late is too late for birth control?

Hi, I've been on birth control for a little over 3 weeks now, and one day I took it 3 hours late, and another day I was one hour late. How much would this affect its effectiveness, and would I still be protected this month?
How late is "late" for a pill?

You are still protected. However, it is best to take your pill everyday at the same exact time. Set an alarm, so you aren't late on taking it. It's most effective that way.

I've been on birth control for 7(ish) years and I've never been good at taking it at the exact same time every day (always within a few hours), and I am still baby free.
