Can using an IUD decrease my fertility?

Question

I'm thinking of switching from the pill to an IUD, but I'm scared that once I remove it after the 3-5 years that it can be in me, that I will have a hard time getting pregnant. Has anyone used the IUD and had difficulty getting pregnant afterwards?

I had the Mirena for 4 years. Then I started having some complications due to it becoming inbeded. It was caught early so I just had to have it taken out. I got pregnant 3 months later

I have had 2 different IUD's now.. Got pregnant about 2 months after getting the first one out. Got my second one out about 4 months ago and am not pregnant.. I had some complications so I switched to another form of BC and not currently TTC. Almost wish I hadn't! I loved my IUD! Best BC I've ever used :)

It can damage your uterus and cause you to never have a baby. But that rare. I had mine for three years and got pregnant 2 months later (they recommend waiting two months) so I basically got pregnant right away

I don't see how an IUD can cause problems with fertility but if you think it's due to hormones you can always go with a paragard which has no hormones
