Confused ?!?

Okaay ladies im a bit confused, i have a 3month old baby boy , ive always loved to work and I just currently started working last thursday , i live with two of my brothers in law and my husband , the reason why I started working was to help out my husband pay of a 12,000 that he owes to an insurance and today he comes in telling me he spoke with his brothers and they told him that i should pay for rent , bills and food , as well when im the one who cooks for all of them does all the payments , but i qont be doing the cooking anymore since we all work in the morning ! so i tell my husband that whats the point of me being with him if im practically gonna pay as well , then whats the point of me having a husband ? My SO cones and say he is better of alone !  If the reason im working is to help each other out and have a little money left , we got into an argument left the house with my baby , and i just dnt know where i stand in this relationship anymore ? What would any of u do in my place !?!

Y'all need to communicate and work this out. There isn't a "right" way, because every couple has a different situation and system that works for them. The issue here isn't about money, but about your expectations and respect for each other. Schedule a time to sit down when neither one of you is feeling emotional about the situations and work out a plan that works for you.

And his brothers need to butt out and he needs to keep them out.

I don't think you should pay rent because you and your husband share a room but utilities yes. You can't make the rent go up!

Did u guys discuss how you would handle your finances before you got married? Financial issues can be detrimental in marriage so stop and hve that concert if u haven't yet

Marriage is a financial agreement. It shouldn't be 50/50. My personal view is that my money is his money and his money is my money. We pay for all of our bills with our combined finances and neither of us consider anything his or hers (except for cars, mostly for insurance purposes at the current moment) - we pay into this marriage equally regardless of who makes what.

It sounds like you're trying to help your husband pay off a debt but how much are you making and how much are you contributing aside from that (rhetorical question)? Why are they suggesting this to him? If you are contributing your finances to the family, it should be all considered equal. If you're only contributing to his debt and keeping the rest for yourself, that isn't exactly right.

Stop helping him pay his debt and just pay your part in rent. Buy and cook your own food. Umm "what's the point of having a husband?" Cmon. You only see him as money? Girl, gtfo.
