Too Young?

Question

Is 18 too young to want to have a baby even though you and your partner are stable?

Stable? Like you both finished school, finished with college, have great jobs, have insurance and have a good savings and a safe home? Then if so, yes it's still too young, life is so much to offer, things will get there so don't rush. Enjoy the things you can't do when you have kids now, not doing that will make you miss out on so much. Also talk and both be prepared for pregnancy, labor, fights to come, your child's school, medical, issues, waking up early, no sleep, everything really. Please don't be selfish and just think to do something because you can. Think of the innocent baby please.

If you have a stable income, stable relationship, are emotionally mature, have done your research on what it takes to have and care for a child, and are prepared for the worst, then it should be fine. It would probably be preferable to wait a few years just in case, but at least you're legally an adult.

Want if and trying are two different things if you do try then make sure your out of high school have your own place that you can still afford once the baby comes and that you and your SO are commited and I'd say been together at least 2 years if not more since your still young

I'm 19 and expecting my first. My husband and I have the money and a house but I would have loved to go to college before getting pregnant. I regret not going to college but I do plan on starting next fall. You need to have a plan set before you just decide you want a baby. I would honestly suggest waiting at least a couple more years.

I think so. Only because you should enjoy being that young. I'm 23 and expecting my first and I'm nervous about it. But excited. I'd sleep on it and really think about it. Is your so someone you want a baby? Its a life long commitment. Do what makes you happy but give it a lot of deep thought first. Good luck.

With one of my exes I was TTC at 18 and when I first turned 19 (the age I'm still now) was TTC with another ex both BIG mistakes. I'm now in a relationship and we both would love to have kids but not right now since were young. But if your financially stable, stable full time job, emotionally ready etc then go for it. I got pregnant at 18.  I love my daughter but it's taken me 7 years to be able to provide for her completely by myself (without public assistant, food stamps, medical card or government housing ). 
My husband and I are trying for our first together, my second, and I am just now financially stable, but I am still going to school.

I would highly suggest getting some kind of degree first, something that always has jobs available (medical, business, etc). 
You have no idea how expensive a baby is and how much they depend on everything you do until you have one. 
You want to be able to be a wonderful example for their future, and being independent and stable is a great start.
