Sex on the first date?

I had sex on the first date. I knew him before and we had been talking for a bit. But for the first date We were a bit drunk, and it had been a while for me so I was ready haha. Anyway....we dated happily and amazingly for 3 years and are now engaged and TTC. It seems like a lot of people think sex on the first date ruins a relationship. What are everyone's thoughts?

I think it takes away a lot of the mystery in a new relationship. I personally don't have sex on the first date, but if someone else does I'm not one to judge. Their life, their preference, doesn't effect me in anyway so why make a fuss? If you feel like you wanna get down on the first date go for it!! I just personally don't do it.

I do not think it necessarily ruins a relationship. But its a risk. Sharing something so intimate with someone you do not know very well could be disastrous. I always looked at no matter how careful you are of you do the deed a baby could happen. I wanted to know the guy really well to make sure if a baby did happen it would hopefully work out better. But even knowing people a long time doesnt mean you " know" them. I dunno lol

My husband made me wait 4 months . He said he respected me too much to have sex too quickly and we had been knowing each other for 8 yrs. When we did have sex we were head over heels in love and it was such a beautiful night when we first made love. I love that he made me wait.

I had sex with my now long time boyfriend the night we met. Or tried to anyways we were both basically blacked out and tried our hardest to have sex in our sloppy state. We live together and are talking about kids and marriage and all that good stuff.

We waited for a year and a half before we had sex. We took things really slow. We'd both been on bad relationships before, so we didn't want to rush anything and really get to know each other. In our specific case, it was the best decision. I wouldn't do it any other way. I wouldn't judge anyone for having sex on the first date. Sex is awesome lol. And everyone is different. There is no standard on how to start a relationship right.
