Today I went for a check up and to switch to a new birth control. I found out that I didn't have to get a Pap but they wanted to do and std test regardless. The doctor gave me a swab kit with the qtips and test tube and told me it was like putting in a tampon and that I would have to insert it for 30 seconds and take a swab. It was extremely painful to say the least and than after that a few hours later when I had to pee it was very uncomfortable and painful as well. I thought the pain might go away over the course of the day but did not...and it has still been painful while going to the bathroom. I'm just curious as to if this is normal?
