Is Fluconazole 150mg tablet safe during pregnancy?

I am 8 1/2 weeks pregnant and have  a yeast infection. I prone to them and always have a couple on hand. Since being the weekend I am unable to get in touch with my doctor.

What do you ladies think?

It's not safe to use Diflucan 150mg tablet. The way to go is the 7 day cream. I'm a certified pharmacy technician and i just did a CE for this yesterday!

I currently have a yeast infection (I had to take antibiotics for an infected tooth) I tried taking probiotics but for some reason the pills made me sick.  My doctor said to use the 7 day monistat cream, and I could use it externally as well.

I've been told not, I'm a vet and we aren't allowed to use fluconazole in pregnant bitches either. I've just been loading up on probiotics, hadn't fixed it up completely but I'm comfortable, I am wondering though if there is something that can be used safely as a topical treatment.

If it were me, I would do a vaginal clotrimazole suppository or cream (although creams burn and itch more because of the alcohol in them compared to the suppositories) as it is only a pregnancy category B versus even the monistat which is a category C

I had a yeast infection at 4 weeks pregnant and they told me it's very dangerous to use the pill I had to use the cream for 7 days I bought the Monostat brand it's over the counter and it took it away! :) did cause some spotting which the doctor told me is normal.

It's not recommend in pregnancy. I had reoccurring yeast infections during my 1st and current pregnancy. I use Monistat/ Miconazole 7, which is recommended for pregnant women. You can also talk to the pharmacist. Your OB/GYN will probably give you a script for a stronger cream. Good luck mama! I also hear that eating yogurt helps.

It's safe to a certain dose. You can take it if you absolutely have to, but just the one time, no repeat dosing if symptoms are still there. I'm a pharmacist and have intervened on this interaction with pregnancy for patients before. Here is the info available to me about it
