To IUD? Or not IUD?

Hi!
I have been on the pill since I can remember. (Started my period at a young age and cramps were terrible!!) Anyways, I am thinking about getting an IUD. I was wondering if any of you have had major problems or if you absolutely love it.
Any information about them is helpful:)
 thanks!

I've had the Mirena IUD for about 15 months now. I was on birth control pills for 9 years prior to getting it and I'm SO HAPPY I made the switch! I love this IUD. No daily pills to remember! And because it's the hormonal kind, it still provides the same benefits the pills gave me: little to no cramps, very light bleeding, no acne, no weight gain, no mood swings, etc. The only thing I don't like is that my period is fairly unpredictable now, but that's because I've moved back to my "natural" cycle, which is unpredictable, and likely has nothing to do with the IUD at all. I have regular sex with my SO and he comes in me every time, and we've had no pregnancy scares, so on that front it works great too 😊

...speculum and sent me on my way. It took less than 10 minutes altogether, very easy. Since I was on my period, I continued to bleed for a few days and had some moderate cramping. But after that, everything was great!

...to feel for later, and then he put it into my uterus and held it in place for 10 seconds. That hurt even worse. Really, honestly, terrible pain. I made these horrible noises and had to focus on deep breathing. But once he removed the insertion stick, the pain was gone. They took out the...

I absolutely hate the IUD. It nearly ruined my life. Still suffering from horrible side effects. Only had mine in for 6 months!

Birth control is different for everyone. What works for one person might be a nightmare for the next. Personally, the IUD was the best form of birth control I had ever used. I was lucky enough not to have any horrible symptoms with it. The only thing was that I'd get pretty bad headaches right before my period. I didn't get bad cramps, acne, weight gain, or the dreaded IUD getting stuck to my uterine wall. I was terrified that would happen after reading about it online but thankfully it never did. I also liked the convenience of not having to take a pill every single day. Good luck finding something you like! It honestly took me years. I'm pregnant now (I was trying and had it removed - didn't get pregnant while it was in) but I will probably get it again after my baby is born.
