Advice on anal sex???

Okay so me and my boyfriend have gotten down and dirty acouple of times but he wants to try anal instead of just vaginal sex. I've tryed anal before but it just hurt so much! and I really do want to try anal with him but I'm scared it'd hurt to much is there anyway to make it alittle more bareable????
