Really scared about a C section.

Okay, so I'm having a c section because it's the only safe option for me and I have to say that I am terrified. I haven't been to the hospital for myself since I was an infant and the thought of a tube coming out of my arm, a catheter being inserted, and a needle directly going into my spine does not settle well with me, let alone being awake while I'm being freaking cut open! So I was just wondering if anyone had any advise to get me to accept my future situation.
