My first. Should i get epidural?

I would say no but it's honestly up to u in that time of moment. I didn't do epidural and the pain was mad crazy yea but it's something I shared with my baby. And it felt good knowing all that pain was worth it after. That was with my first child and Im going to do it again next month.

It's up to you and what you think you can handle. It's okay to make your decision in the moment. I went into the hospital not wanting any pain medication, but after 36 hours of labor I got an epidural.

I'm going to try to go as long as I can without it,  because I'm a worry wort and have heard it can cause some complications in some situations (most of the time woman and baby's are okay) but sometimes your baby has side effects or you suffer from pain after birth because of trama to your spine (bad anistesiologist) and you never know how you could react or how your baby could react to the drug. But if I absolutely cannot handle the pain. (After I've tried everything else) I'll settle for an epidural. .

Go with how you feel about it. If you choose not to then find you can't handle the pain you can always change your mind. Do some research and figure out what you feel is best. I went into it with my first knowing I wanted an epidural. I was induced and read all the scary things about induction and possibility of c section and yada yada yada. I figured if it goes in that direction I'm already half way prepped and I won't go into the OR and have to be knock out and then have to wait to see my baby. BTW my induction went wonderfully. I got tons of rest due to not feeling much of anything. When I was fully dialated my nurse had me do some "practice pushes"...needless to say I only did one of those called the doc in and my babe was born 15 min later. I think 4 pushes total counting the practice push. The epidural was not that bad to get either. I know this can be different for different people. It is also how good your anesthesiologist is. Mine was awesome . Most pain I felt was from the local anesthetic (bee sting burn). Started right after one contraction ended and I just barely felt the beginning of the next and then there was nothing.

I said no. Then I got it as soon as I got into the hospital I was 5-6 cm. that thing saved my life. I have a high pain tolerance and that was the worst pain I have felt. Right before I delievered I had a contraction that wouldn't stop. They had to give me a shot to stop it. I would probably have died from not being able to breath. No matter how much up practice breathing it doesn't help
