Anyone's baby have an umbilical granuloma and want to share their experience? My daughter's pediatrician said they can cauterize it with silver nitrate but he doesn't recommend it for my daughter. He said the silver nitrate would cause irritation to her skin and didn't seem concerned about the granuloma. I'm reading that the granuloma can persist for several months without treatment though. It's not bothering her, but I'm planning on going for a second opinion if it persists for the rest of the week or sooner if it seems to irritate her.
