Did you get your wisdom teeth out?

Well, I got my wisdom teeth out. They tried to sedate me but the pills wernt working so I tuffed it out and did it without being sedated.  It's been 6 hours and I feel completely fine. No swelling yet, but I'm sure tomorrow will be a different story. I have ice packs on my face right now just in case. Does anyone have any tips? I've been so out of it I honestly don't remember anything.

I'm a dental hygienist so I've seen many wisdom tooth extractions. I've also assisted with the extractions and have had my wisdom teeth removed as well. The key is to take it easy for the first three days. No physical activity, no straws, no smoking, no spitting. Lay back and relax. Let your body do it's thing and heal itself. Ice is great but will only really help for the first day or two. 20mins on, 20mins off. The pills you took did sedate you, just apparently not as much as you or the dentist thought they would. It could take 24-48hrs for that medication to work its way out of your system. Eat soft foods for the first three days at least and then start adding more sold foods in but take it easy. Be sure to brush your teeth daily even if you do use toothpaste. Remember not to spit. I'm happy to answer any other questions you may have! Happy healing!

I got mine out 4 weeks ago. I was fine the first day but the second day is when I really felt it my face started to swell but the third day is when the swelling was the worst. I had to go back though cause where I had to have them cut out I ended up getting a dry socket. Now everything is fine just waiting on the holes to finish closing up.

I didnt get sedated either. I had all of mine taken at the same time as well. I was ok, but it was painful. I really dont like meds so I didnt take the pain pills  often only when my mouth started throbbing a few times. It took about two weeks to heal though because I had dry socket

Be sure you rotate ice on and off as instructed! I had pain and clotting issues, and the ice felt so good I kept it on... Cheeks swelled up like I couldn't believe the next day!!

I had no swelling, no pain, and no bad reactions. I didn't take any of my pain pills, and was eating soft foods within 24 hours. I was back to normal within a week. 
Keep ice rotated on & off, and you shouldn't swell too much :)

Oh man, you are brave. I went under lol make sure you don't drink through straw, camomile tea is good for you because it takes inflammation down, I had some soup the same day, first couple days a bit hard, but considering you did it without any meds I think you will be fine haha

I don't know if this is similar or not, but I just got numbed up for mine, no real sedation. It was uncomfortable, but the recovery wasn't so bad. I didn't even need any pain medication past the day after they were pulled. Ice packs, soft food, especially soft cold food. I live soup that that helped. And the warm salt water over the area will really help. I can't remember exactly when to do it, hopefully they gave you instructions. Oh and I slept the day of and after as much as possible. I think that helped too.
