Should i get the epidural?

Idk if i should take it because i think i may be too numb to focus on pushing..
Can anyone  that experienced the epidural  give some advice please

You will know when you are in labor if you will take it or not. You can do all the planning in the world bit if you need it, you need it. Just keep a clear mind and ask yourself if you can handle it cause chances are, you can! I went in with this frame of mind and went without an epidural and I'm SOOO glad I did. I was up & walking around within an hour of giving birth!

I honestly believe you should wait till your in labor to make the decision. Some people are better at handling the pain then others. With my son the pain was unbearable!! He was my first born. And my daughter labor wasn't nearly as bad but I didn't want to feel myself open while the baby was coming out cause I know the pain would be just as bad. So I had it with both. But with my son I couldn't feel anything and with my daughter I was about to feel the pressure and it was horrible. Either one you choose its all depending on how you feel

It was a much longer process as far as numbing it worked for a while I still ended up feeling everything while I was pushing.

I got it and honestly didn't feel a thing (20hrs in labor) ... I was pushing for an hour but was so painless I almost thought I wasn't doing anything... This time around I'm not getting it cuz hopefully it's a fast labor since its baby #2

I couldn't move my legs at all with my oldest when I had it, but it didn't make pushing hard. I pushed for 30 minutes and he was born almost 9lbs.

I reccomend getting an epidural. It was a blessing to me.

I got it at 8 cm and everything went fine! I haven't had any complications from it.  With this pregnancy I plan to go all the way without it!  It's all up to you! Just go as long as you can first then decide!

They can adjust the strength of the epidural meds and lower it if you want, they can also shut off the meds completely if you want relief during labor but not while pushing. Mine was reduced I felt uncomfortable and lots of pressure during pushing but not in pain.
