Getting my sons ears pierced?

Question

He's 5 and wanted this for quite a while now. His dad has his ears, nose and nipple pierced so our son wants his ears pierced as well now since he cant and obviously will not get tattooed like his dad but he wanted this for like a few months now but I'm scared 5 years is too old now and it will hurt a bit. 
We have many professional tattoo and piercing artists as friends and they did that on many kids and babies so they're experienced, I thought we could still wait because he can still get pierced obviously when he's old enough but my hubby was like its not a big deal we can still take them out if anything should happen. What do you think?

Give Tylenol before hand to help with pain, if your worried about that. But if mommy and daddy have it, why not him. My son likes his nails painted 😄

I vote do it. He wants to be like his daddy! :) Too cute. Kids get their ears pierced all the time.  5 is a good age.

I say let him get them done if he wants. Just warn him it may hurt a little, and they take time to heal so he knows what he's in for. Plus like it was mentioned in your post they can always be taken out if they aren't healing good, or if he decides he doesn't want them.

It's fine if he wants them, he can always take them out. It all depends on you guys las parents. I'm a girl, but I got mine pierced when I was 3 and I would suggest wherever you go to get them done make sure they pierce both ears at the same time if he wants both. The shock will take the pain away until later when they are sore. If you do one at a time he will probably be terrified of the second ear because the first one will hurt already.

I was seven when I got mine pierced, and my mom's main concern was me not cleaning them properly. If it's something he wants and he can take care of them himself, which it seems like he will with parents and friends in the industry, I would totally do it if I were you. My two cents. If you do wind up piercing them, pics please!!!

I think that you should get your sons ears pierced, especially because he is asking for them to be pierced. I would also get both his ears pierced rather than just the one though. I had my sons left ear pierced when he was a newborn at the same time as I had his twin sisters ears pierced but afterwards wished that I had pierced both of his ears. As soon as their ears had healed I had his right ear pierced at the same time as I had her ears double pierced. If I had another boy I would do the same and have his ears pierced as soon as possible but would definitely have both ears pierced rather than just the one.
