We were together for almost 2 years, broke up for 6 months, and have been back together for 5 years.

Yes, although I'm sure some people will say that 12 hours off doesn't count.   LOL!  We knew each other for a long time before really becoming friends, and then just started dating.  There are quite a few differences of opinion that we have had to iron out, and one of them was close to the last straw.  But we made it, and have been married for 2 years and 5 months.   We still fuss, but we are in this for the long haul.

Just to clarify my "yes" answer. Our relationship has become toxic we have developed a very unhealthy addiction to each other that created jealousy and fights. We needed to take a little breather, take a break and reasses our relationship to make it stronger and better because we truly loved each other. That being said, our break/time apart was under the condition that we remain completely exclusive and faithful to each other. It was time to figure ourselves out and not to "see other people". So it depends what you imply by the word 'break'. If it means you need/want to see other people then no, it probably wouldn't work out.
