Hydronephrosis help please?😔

Question

Found out today I have a small amount of fluid (hydronephrosis) in my right kidney. US tech & my OB said that can happen in pregnancy if the uterus is putting pressure on the urinary tract. Of course now I'm panicking about stents & kidney failure. Someone help please?😕 I'm 19 weeks w/ a healthy baby boy

I had that before and the pregnancy ended in miscarriage but not from the hydronephrosis. I already had problems with my kidney prior to that and ended up being diagnosed with kidney disease while I was still pregnant. A couple months after, I went to see all these specialists and the damage it did was all gone. It's been a few years since then and at this point my kidneys are functioning better than ever. I don't think you should worry about kidney failure. It scared me so bad especially the kidney disease but the body is pretty amazing. Seems like my body repaired itself, even the problems I had previously have gone away. 😊

I was just in the ER Memorial Day for the same thing they thought it was appendicitis thank God it was not!  I have severe hydronephrosis they got it cleared up with fluids and pain meds for me, but unfortunately it can/might happen again until the uterus moves up in the coming weeks it was the worst pain I have ever felt in my life and I've had 2 c sections with no pain meds.  They told me to lay on whichever side is opposite of the kidney that is bothered 3 times a day for 15-20min and try to sleep on that side as well to keep the baby off of the ureter.  So far I have been good and it's not affecting the baby in any way so that's good!  Sorry I couldn't help more but that is all they told me to do.  They don't want to stent the urologist said it would cause me more problems then what I was having so I'm all about trying to wait it out myself.  Good luck hope you don't have to experience the pain that I did.
