Should we try?

So I'm 17, turning 18 in August. My boyfriend and I both want kids, but I have PCOS so I'm afraid I won't be able to have kids in the future. We've agreed we want to try soon, but I'm scared it's too soon.  Any thoughts?

Are you both done school, living independently on your own, both with stable jobs and plan to spend your lives together?
If no to any of the above than no you shouldn't start trying for sure.
Next question is, are you ready for kids NOW or within the next 6 months to 1 year? Many people with PCOS successfully conceive naturally. Though it can take a bit longer. But until you have been trying to conceive for a year therr is no reason to presume you won't be able to get pregnant within that time frame. You are both still young and if you don't feel ready wait a little long. Even if you wait until you are 20 and take 1 year of trying and can't conceive you can speak to a doctor about further options by 21 and possibly pregnant by 22. That is still young. There is no need to rush if you aren't ready just because you are worried about your ability to have children.

If you are scared, don't do it until you know you're ready. I have PCOS, just turned 33, and had my first child almost 8 weeks ago. I just want to let you know that it is possible and I know several other women with PCOS that have had 3+ children naturally.

You need to be prepared financially and mentally for a child, not just physically, get both of your lives in order and then think about trying.

I have high adrenals (pcos without the cysts) and got pregnant once after 9 months of trying and once after 1 cycle...  Theres so much help these days with pcos that there really isnt any reason to have babies early...  Try dieting and eating low carb, thatwill help the insuline resistance part of pcos..  And honedtly i would wait.. Theres really no rush..

I turned 18 in Feb and my husband just turned 20. I was still 17 when I got pregnant. Were young but we're ready mentally and financially. Plus we have a lot of help from family. I think as long as you're both mentally and finacially ready to raise a baby together. Go for it.
