Chemical Pregnancy Answers

Hello all. We lost our darling boy at 16 weeks in March and this past cycle was our first TTC again. Well, I got a positive hpt this past Saturday and told my hubby because it was his bday. It was a faint line but definitely there. That same afternoon i used a digital and it said "not pregnant" but I wasn't concerned because I know they are less sensitive and I was only 11dpo. So, I tested the next day and it seemed a little more faint but still there. I tested again Monday thinking 48 hours since original positive would be enough time to see a darker line. Well, it was almost non-existent and today is the same.

Save for the digital, I used FMU or SMU and even last night made sure to stop drinking earlier (which sucked because I was thirsty) in the hopes of having more concentrated urine but to no avail. Also, my positives were all on FRERs.

So, despite having good vibes when I found out (with my son I had an odd "off" feeling when I found out), I fear this is a doomed chemical pregnancy. I'm in between practices, and haven't been to my new OB office yet, but am scheduled for an appointment next Wednesday. They won't send me for bloodwork until I have been seen officially. I called my old OB office and the nurse said she wouldn't automatically call it a chemical pregnancy but she'd try to have midwife ring me by tomorrow. I placed a call to my perinatologist as well and he said I should do Urgent Care or the ER for full examination to rule out ectopic, even though he said it sounds like possible chemical.

Anyone have insight, either positive or disheartening outcomes? We were thrilled to see a positive after our first round of TTC post-miscarriage but this turn of events has put me into a serious depression and I feel gutted. Hopefully someone can offer insight while I wait for a midwife to call tomorrow or venture to the ER for answers. I've read some women's pregnancies carry on just fine, but my recent loss tells me that I only fall in the small percentages when it's an unfavorable outcome. Thanks in advance.
