I think I'm pregnant

Usually my period comes every 23 days ... last month I came on the 13th and I'm 3 days late this month. .. I took a test from dollar tree but I don't think they actually work.. what do? I do what's my next step? I'm excited because I really want one but I'm scared at the same time!!!
