I'm late?

I'm a week late. Af is yet to showup. I took a pregnancy test the first day i was late I tested and it came back negative. A few days later I tested and it was also negative. I've read that opks can sometimes ditect pregnancy. I've taken several opks over the past few days and they are positive?? I'm out of pregnancy tests. I did have some brownish/pink spotting a week before af was due. ... Could I be pregnant? Could I have taken a pregnancy test too early??? Please help.

It seems that OPK’s can’t detect hCG until it is at a pretty high level, and that level is well beyond what most home pregnancy tests would have already been able to detect. So, it can be used as a “back up” method, or if you would like to double check, but it shouldn’t be done as a primary method of pregnancy testing

If you do choose to use an OPK as a home pregnancy test, be aware that the results are not always reliable. If you get a positive result, you might think that you are pregnant, but you could just be having an LH surge that is longer than normal. It is also possible that you could have ovulated twice in one month. It is possible that your ovulation just occurred later than normal. All of these things could give you a positive OPK and if you are using it for a home pregnancy test, you will think that you are pregnant when you are actually not.

The test should be positive by now if your pregnant. I had the same thing happen last month! Is the opk one that has lines? My mistake was seeing both lines and thinking it was positive but it wasn't unless the second line is as dark or darker than the other line.

Did your OPKs look like this earlier in your cycle? If not, you ovulated late & these are your true positives.
