Should kids have phones before they even hit the double digits age?

My sister and her fiancé recently purchased an iPhone for my 5 year old nephew and I completely disagree. They have the excuse that it's because it's a free line but they can wait until he's at least 10 to have one! I personally think that children should not have phones, we grew up without phones and we came out perfectly fine! They should play outside, get into sports, watch tv, or play the wii but not have a phone! That's how kids know what all these sexual terms are... I grew up 15 years old and I still didn't know how to properly kiss a guy. Having a phone with Internet and all that is just not okay, I can make an exception of a track phone for emergency use only but not an iPhone. Sorry this was sorta a rant but also I just completely disagree with kids having phones.
