I got out of a four year relationship and i waited two months before having casual sex a couple of times, then I waited four months before trying to actually date again.  Worked out quite well, I started dating my now husband :)

I realized after being hurt the best thing to do is get back out there

I don't think there's really a set time frame. It's just whenever you feel you're ready. There's been relationships I could just start dating around the next day, and others that took YEARS to get over.
