From boy friend to boyfriend

My friend and I like each other and we admitted this to each other at the beginning of the month. We both have trust issues and we are both afraid so it's been really hard to navigate through this. At first he kept telling me he wasn't ready for a relationship but Friday he made a move on me and said that he wanted to commit. Things have been moving quickly since then and last night against my better judgement I took his v card because he wanted to have sex. I really like him and I really want everything to work out. And he seems fine with everything but I'm freaking out. Is this a sign We're moving too fast? Or that I am just nervous?
