When did you put your baby in their crib in another room?

My son is 3 weeks old and hates sleeping on his back but I want to get him used to his own crib and bedroom which is literally right next to ours. I worry because I don't want him to wake up and fuss just because he's on his back completely flat (he normally sleeps in a rocking sleeper next to our bed). I'd also feel bad missing his signs of cooing for food and him having to cry to wake me. What did you mama's do? Or any good advice?

After many sleepless nights we determined our son hates his bassinet. He's 3 weeks and sleeps in his crib just fine. Unfortunately his crib is too big for our bedroom, so I've been sleeping on an air mattress in his room. Not sure how much longer I will do that. My pediatrician told me he could sleep in his own room as soon as I feel comfortable. Seems like everyone, even doctors, have differing opinions. Do what works for you!!

My son is 5 weeks and he hates his back as well.  I put him on his stomach and keep an eye on him and pray. His bassinet is next to our bed. I wouldn't personality put my baby in another until he is much older. Even having a monitor,  closer they are is better. Can you put the bed in your room?

The day we brought our daughter home she was in her crib in her room. We swaddle her and put her on her back. She sometimes sleeps on her side. I don't see how having your baby sleep in the same room as you can prevent SIDS. Our pediatrician said it's great to start them in their crib right away and it may help with their sleep habits. She said that some kids have a hard time going from a bassinet to a crib, and may want to have their parents by them while they sleep. Do what's best for you though, this is just what is working for us.

My son is 3 weeks old and he sleeps in his crib in another room (on the same level as ours) I wanted him to sleep in the pack and play in our room when we brought him home, but unfortunately he hates it and his swing and prefers to sleep in his crib. I switch his positions every time he wakes up and takes another nap just so he is comfy and doesn't get a flat head. I also swaddle him so he is more comfy. Always do what's more comfortable for you and baby. I wanted him to stay in the same room as me but he made his own decision lol

I'm waiting till at least 6 months, when the SIDS risk drops dramatically. Having them sleep in your room is one way to decrease the risk of SIDS, and that's worth it to me. I may even choose to have him in our room for a year. Not sure yet. We'll probably make that decision after he outgrows his bassinet b/c the Pack N Play will take up much more space in our bedroom, so we'll see how long we're willing to do that.

My little one started at a week in his crib - my mom was visiting and put him to bed one night in there even though I was planning on co-sleeping but I have to say it was the best decision! I guess what helps me the most is realizing it's okay for baby to cry! It's good for their little lungs and he doesn't think I don't love him if he has to cry for food lol good luck mama 💕

My baby started sleeping in her own room at 3 weeks. She's such a loud sleeper that I wasn't able to get any sleep if she was in our room with us. She is 6 weeks now and still sleeps in her rock and play. I was setting an alarm to go feed her, but now I wait until she cries to get up.

My son is 6 weeks old. I only put him in his crib for naps during the day, I put him on his tummy and supervise him. My pediatrician recommended sleeping in the same room until 6 months. So that is what I am going to do, by that point he should be able to roll over by himself if need be.
