Blood test for gender?

How far along do you need to be for blood work to accurately determine gender? I will be 12 weeks tomorrow. My OB told me the standard 20 weeks is necessary for ultrasound determination, but we didn't discuss a blood test and I really want to know sooner than later :-)

Blood test at 12w or 3D scan by OB at 14w and electives at 15. At least in my area.

I did the genetic screening (blood test ) at 11 weeks.

I did the blood test at 11 weeks and it only took 7 days for the results when they told me it would be 2 weeks! I'm so glad we did the blood test.

I had my blood test done at 10 weeks and found out the results one week later. I did the panorama test. We found out we're having a little boy! I was convinced it was a girl, my husband is beyond excited!
