How to take care of baby after shots?

Hi guys, I'm a FTM and my baby will get his first shot tomorrow. I heard after the shots, baby will have fever and such. What should I do to soothe him? Any idea would be greatly appreciate.

Love and snuggles. My daughter doesn't get a fever until the end of the day after shots and on day 2. Most of the time babies don't need Tylenol (infants brand) but I give her a dose of she's super fussy and running a fever. It just helps calm her down.

Do not give Tylenol before shots! It interacts with some and makes them less effective.

Not all babies will have a fever or anything. Just monitor and if they are a lot fussier than normal, check the temp and if they have a low grade fever just give a little infant tylonel. If you are breastfeeding just do a little more on demand as that can be soothing. They do the shot in the leg so peddle the baby's legs like a bike and give a warm bath. To help sloth. They may be more tired than normal and that's completely normal :)

My baby just had her two month shots. Just before her appointment I gave her 40mg of Tylenol for infants. Doctor actually asked me if I wanted to give her some before her shots, but I had already done so. Anyway, once your baby gets the shots hold your baby right away for comfort. Also take baby a bath. Luckily my baby was completely fine & did not get a fever nor she was fussy

My son never had a fever after shots. I did read in several places that if u nurse immediately before the shots (like nurse in the room while u are waiting for the dr to come in) then it helps ease the pain. My son was very easily calmed after all of his shots. Maybe a little sleepy sometimes after them too.

NOOOOO Tylenol before/after vaccines. Google it - it can cause severe reactions. Also make sure to reschedule if your little one isn't 100% healthy at the time of appointment!

And once your get home leave them in just a shirt & diaper also avoid unnecessary carrying because sometimes baby's legs a sore afterwards
