Is it okay to throw your own babyshower?

I'm a FTM, I don't really have any close friends to throw me one, my mom and MIL I think were planning on it but I like to be in control so I figure they could help with ideas and such. I also I don't want them to end up paying for all of it.. So is it okay to throw your own?

I'm planning my own with a little help from my best friend. My family and the hubby's family weren't willing to work together so it was easier to do it myself :)

I'd let them plan and you just give them your opinion and be involved darling💜 relax and let someone else take car of it.
