Is it odd or bad?

Is it bad or odd that I watch law and order Special Victims Unit to cope with being raped 6 months ago and not reporting it. To those that don't know that show is only based on sexually based crimes like rape,assault,  you name it.

Everyone responds to traumatic situations in different ways, so no, I don't think it's odd. But I would strongly recommend you talk to someone about it. I'm so very sorry this happened to you xx

I didn't report either. I was 17, he was 15 but much bigger than me. I forgot to lock the bathroom door at a friend's house. Someone who was there came in, I remember my head smacking into the tub, then came to with him on me. I didn't report because I was scared. I was scared because I was at the age of consent, and he wasn't. I thought he would try to flip it on me, even though I was unconscious. No, I don't think it's odd to watch it to cope. I've seen every episode probably twice, haha. Binge watched it myself to cope. Then talked to a therapist. Now I cover all rape cases in court for my job. Rather than allowing it to be a trigger, I use it to see how the local system works. I now know that even if I had reported, he would have likely received probation, since that's the norm in this county. Unfortunately, here, rapists get probation, and weed smokers get jail. I'm sorry for what happened to you. I'm here if you need an ear. 💕

Not at all. I was raped multiple times and love that show and am actually going to school to become a tramua psychologist for assault and rape victims.

I never reported my assault when i was 9 but i had an effed up family who wanted to bury what happened to me, i became obsessed with Law & Order SVU at age 10. i was assaulted again at 14 but that time i went to the police, i don't think the guy went to jail, i didn't have to attend court because i was a minor, i testified on camera, i don't know what happened to him but i avoided that town like the plague! I still enjoy SVU however i like Bones and Criminal Minds more now.
