When is the appropriate time to have a baby shower?

It's hard for us January moms because of the holidays. I will be having mine early.

I'm thinking mid October to mid November. Am due at the end of January. My sister who will live in Germany is due early November so that's why I'm leaning more towards October in case our mom has the opportunity to be there for her baby's birth. I'd be heartbroken if my mom wasn't there

My sister in law actually had her baby shower 3 weeks after he was born.  It was pretty cool having him there, and everyone got to meet him and have cuddles.  I'm thinking of doing the same.

I feel like there's no point in me having a baby shower since I'll have barely anybody there. My sisters were in town this weekend and they were making it seem like having kids is such a bad thing! (Even though 2 have kids of their own) I was too offended and scared to tell them that I'm pregnant since my other sis that lives with me is also pregnant and it took them awhile to get use to her news. I already feel bad being around them so I'm not sure if I should even have a baby shower? It's not like I have many friends :( Help anybody? It would be greatly appreciated!!

I'm due January 6th have a history of early delivery though. My birthday is Halloween. My mom is throwing my shower on my birthday.

We plan on having mine in October and I'm due late January. I also have friends flying in from other conutries so we had to pick a date almost as soon as I found out!

I would say 7-8 rather than 6-7 or 8+, but with ours vein around the holidays, it would probably end up being 6-7. This is my second though, so I won't have to worry about it.
