how much should i be pumping?

im 3 weeks pp and whenever i pump i only get 2-3 oz from each boob, so i end up just putting them together. thats one bottle per pumping session. i used to be able to get 5 oz each boob each session. i didnt change anything! why is my supply disappearing? 😞

At first when your milk comes in they go a little overboard in production, that's why it's common to get engorged early on. Then your body figures out the supply and demand and things balance out. At 3 weeks your baby should only be eating around 2 ounces per feeding so I wouldn't worry too much about that, you should be fine. If you really want to increase your supply you can try foods that help. I eat oatmeal every morning and also keep a batch of lactation protein balls on hand. They are easy and delicious! Here's the recipe I use. Oh and keep pumping regularly, I try to pump every 2-3 hours during the day and stretch it a little longer at night to get more sleep. Good luck!
