Best time of day to pump?

Question

I'm a FTM and EBF. My daughter is 12 days old. I want to start pumping once a day to start saving up supply for when I go back to work or when hubby has her alone. Is there a time of day that is prime to pump? & should I be trying so soon or wait a little longer?

I started pumping right off the bat! That way if I needed more sleep husband could take him for a night feeding. I actually pumped 1/2 the time and fed 1/2 the time.  By 8 weeks full time pumping.

Your best time to pump are in the early morning hours. That's when you produce the most. During day pumps I get 6-7 oz. My morning pump is 2X that. My kid is 4 mo so the amount has increased significantly. Yours will too!

Between 1-4 am.  But I would wait a little while unless you have oversupply.

I would probably wait a bit longer until milk supply is established. When my son started sleeping 5 hours his first stretch, I started pumping regularly. He goes to bed at 8-8:30. I pump at 11. He's 16 weeks now so he doesn't wake until 4am so I make plenty more by then. I started by pumping an hour or two after he would go to bed at night. I get 4-7oz during that one pump so I have a very hearty stash at this point
