Open Cervix?! Insert finger?!

Question

Has anyone actually been able to insert the tip of their finger inside their cervix?! I keep reading that when you're ovulating, you will be able to insert the top of your finger. I have NEVER been able to do that. Does that mean my cervix is closed? Or maybe mine doesn't open as wide? So confusing! 😭

I feel like such an idiot for not knowing my own body, but I tried tracking my fertility by monitoring my cervix, and even though I am pretty sure I could feel it, I could never tell if it was low, high, firm, soft, open, etc. It always felt the same to me! I read that when you are not ovulating it would feel firm like the tip of your nose, and when you are ovulating it would be softer and open like a pair of slightly parted lips (the ones on your face, lol!) once in a while I thought I could tell a difference but it never seemed to be at the right time. So I just relied on OPKs!
