Induction stories??

Question

Dr is scheduling me for an induction at 39.2  due to gestational diabetes. Not sure on the process to be followed yet but was hoping to hear some of your stories with getting induced. What methods were used? How did the entire labor go? Any words of wisdom or advice? Thanks all!!!

I was actually induced at 39 weeks due to having a 2 vessel cord. We went in Tuesday night at midnight, where I was given cervidil which softens the cervix to help you dilate, I started having contractions about 2 hours after this was incerted which were every 3-4 mins apart all night...then it stays in for 12 hours then comes out and you start the pitocin. At 130 pm Wednesday I waa only 1 cm dilated, they started the pitocin and we just waited about 8 hours later at 830 pm Wed I was still not,dialted. So then they inserted another contracption that was inserted into my cervix to hopefully help me dilate this was 2 water filled balloons one went in front of my cervix the other behind it and they somehow worked together to help dilate me. This stayed in for about 5 hours before it fell out on its own, at this point it was. 130 am Thursday morning and I was finally 6 cm dilated, they upped my pitocin doseage and gave me my epidural..after 28 hours of active labor we had our bundle of joy

I've been induced with all five of my pregnancies. My first and fifth they used cytotech and pitocin. The other three I just had pitocin. Depending on how your body has already progressed expect to be there a while. My first took 47 hours start to finish. I was 0 dilated and 0% effaced. My next four took between 18-24 hours.

I had a planned induction with my second baby. Let me tell you, I will NEVER go to induce again. I would much rather have my baby naturally. I went in already dilated to a four and progressing. The nurses went ahead and put the pill in to help dilate came back in and said we have to get it out, your baby's heart rate is dropping really fast and the doctor is pissed that we put it in in the first place. Mind you, my husband left for a second to go down the road to get some food. I'm like what? Next thing I know, they are DIGGING in my vag and it fucking HURT. My husband came in panicked because he has no idea wtf is going on and I'm laying there screaming and crying as this woman seems to me like she has her WHOLE FUCKING ARM IN MY VAGINA. She finally gets the pill out. And what you do know, I'm already at 6, and it just kept going SO fast. I was tired and worn out. But I had her naturally with no epidural at 2:08am.

I was induced with Pictocin. I was 3 cm before they started. They started the drip at 9am no contractions until they double my dose at 12pm. Within 30 minutes I had full blown 30 sec to a minute break in between. I was nauseous and felt like I had to go to the bathroom. My water broke about an hour into contractions. They were unbearable and I had back labor also. I asked for an epidural and that helped so much. By 5pm I was 10 cm dilated but his heart rate keeping dropping when I was pushing so I labored down and around 7:30 was ready to push..hr was born at 7:38pm. 10 hours and 38 mins after my induction began.

Inductions generally take a while. With pitocin, it may cause nausea and vomiting...but so can labor. I threw up with it.

I was induces at 41 weeks. They just gave me pitocin. And it honestly wasn't bad at all. The contractions got more painful. But not anything worse than I thought they would be.
