Wanting Advice
I have never posted anything on here before, so this is all new to me. Hopefully I'm on the right board. I'm a little nervous about posting on here, but I am wanting advice and hoping maybe someone can help.
My entire life I've always been a bigger girl, not huge, but a bigger girl. Right around my senior year of high school I started getting sick all the time. I ended up getting my gall bladder removed and it helped a little, but not enough. The sickness I'd feel would come and go, but the older I got, the sick feeling would come more frequently. And no matter how healthy I ate and how often I worked out, I was slowly, but continually putting on weight.
A year ago I got really sick. I was in so much physical pain in my stomach, I was throwing up all the time, I couldn't keep anything down, even water. I had to quit my job because it got so bad and I was missing so much work because of it. I saw multiple doctors and ended up in the hospital. After being poked with needles, test, scans, xrays, and even an endoscopy no one could find what was wrong with me. Eventually, I started to feel a little better, but the feeling of constantly feeling sick just lingered.
The beginning of this year I started to feel sick again and in a lot of pain. I once again couldn't go to work because, working on a school bus, the movement and bumps in the road would cause me so much pain that I would get sick. I went to the hospital twice and they couldn't find anything wrong again. After jumping through hoops, I finally got referred to a surgeon. He looked at my pain and said that even though nothing came up on my scans that this seemed like appendicitis. He decided that the best approach would be exploratory surgery to see if that was indeed the problem or if it was something else entirely.
After having the surgery, he did discover that I did have appendicitis, but what had been making me sick all these years was that I have fatty liver disease. He was upset to find out that the surgeon who removed my gall bladder almost 7 years ago found the first sign of the fatty liver disease and didn't tell me about it. So I've spent all these years not knowing and it's just gotten worse and worse.
What I want to know is, is there anyone else out there in this glow community who has this liver disease and what have you done to help it. I am going to set up an appointment with some doctors to see what I can do, but I want to know some things that others have done to help themselves through this. I feel like I've been fighting in a losing battle all these years. Trying to eat right and exercise, with no luck in helping to lose weight and be healthier, when all I do is gain more weight. It has taken a toll on my health, obviously physically, as well as mentally.
Any advice I can get would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
