Post pregnancy period

I am 11 post partum, have been breastfeeding exclusively until 6 months when I introduced solids. LO loves solids way more then breastmilk so doesn't nurse as much anymore at all. I was expecting to get my period around 6-7 months but still haven't. We want to start trying to conceive at a year. I had to watch my ovulation to get pregnant last time, so I am wondering how do I track it without my period?
