I grew up in Laramie (1/2 hr north of the CO border). It's a high desert (~7,200 ft) climate - pretty and mild summers, but very cold and windy a lot of the year! Feel free to message me if you want to chat about it with a "native ." 🙂

Don't worry about the snow too much! I currently live an hour away from Cheyenne, WY. It snows pretty frequently in the winter, but it aeemsto melt pretty fast. The only thing you'll have to get use to is how to drive in/on the snow. but take it nice and easy and slow the first few times. You'll get use to it. The biggest thing is to just go with the flow. Just like driving on gravel, ice is the same. if it's pulling you one direction, don't freak out and try to overcompensate too much. that's when accidents happen.

not anything too crazy (but that's my opinion! Lol) temps on average go anwhete from -10 to 40 during the winter months (without wind chill). and it regularly gets up to the upper 90s all summer long.
