Is it ok to ask to remove a crucifix from my hospital room?
I'm going to be delivering my baby at a (what I assume) is a Christian hospital (Saint Joseph's). During the tour of the hospital I've noticed that they have crucifix in rooms (delivery and recovery). My doctor only delivers in this hospital. I could switch to a different doctor and a different hospital but I'm too far along to be messing with this. So I want to ask them to remove religious attributes from my room. Is this acceptable?

Folks, please refrain from grammar bashing. I'm not a native speaker but at least I went into trouble to learn a second language ;)
Upd 2:
We had to move across the Pacific Ocean late in my pregnancy and my previous doctor referred me to my current provider who used to be his partner and now is practicing here. We did not find out about the hospital being a "Saint" until I was 34 weeks doing a tour. So it was a very last minute thing.
