Diaper cream at every change?

FTM here!

My newborn had a mild diaper rash the first week we came home and it has healed fine by using Boudreaux's Butt Paste.

Since then, I've been applying diaper cream lightly at every change and applying cream heavily at night when she goes longer periods of time in her diaper because I'm terrified of another diaper rash.

Should I be applying diaper cream at every change to prevent another rash?

Thoughts/advice please!

My infant nurse recommends using every change for the first year . 
You can use a regular butt balm for preventative measures and butt paste when baby has a rash.

I would put diaper rash cream on my daughter each change too because I noticed if I didn't it would always come back. I would always test it to see if it would come back and then one day it just stopped.

I only use it at night, or if he's been pooping a lot 😊
But I don't think it would hurt to use it every time

I'm a FTM as well (currently 33 weeks) but I have been around lots of babies/young children and I never put diaper cream on during every change unless they had a diaper rash or would get them all the time. I dont think it would hurt anything but I would only do it at night and see if your baby gets another one cause they probably won't (for a while) and go from there.

My sons pediatrician recommended it. Butt paste has a preventative spray that you can get also. Go prevents rash and the spray is really handy. We started using coconut oil at every other change and it works amazingly!
