Pandora rings? Do you always wear them?

I have a pandora ring and in the shop they tell you to not wear them while you shower and stuff, does anyone leave them on? Could they let me know what happens if you do?

I take all jewelry off before showering and sleeping. I was told a long time ago to do this by my ex sister in law who worked for a high end jewelry store. She also said it should be the last thing you do before you walk out the door after perfume and hairspray.
