My story
I was due March 19th and had my son on March 1st, I went for a normal appointment to my midwives on February 26th and they took my blood pressure and said they'd be right back. Three other people came in all to take my blood pressure and my midwife asked if I felt okay, I said yes and she said okay drive to the hospital we'll let them know you're coming. They monitored me for an hour and told me I had gestational hypertension, I was already diagnosed with gestational diabetes, they said since I was 37 weeks along, 3cm dilated and 80% effaced they felt okay inducing me and told me to come back on the 29th to be induced. I got to the hospital for 730 and started pitocin at 8am it did nothing so that night they took me off the pitocin and put something in to help me dilate that they took out the next morning. I was now 5cm and 90% effaced they started the pitocin again at 8am on the 1st I still didn't feel anything. At 4pm my midwife checked my cervix again and asked if I'd like them to break my water I was all for it! I finally started getting contractions I went from 5cm to fully dilated by 530pm, that's when I was told I could start pushing. After just 6 pushes and 20 minutes I got my beautiful healthy baby boy! He was born 19 inches long and weighed 6lbs 6oz
