Short nurser???

Question

Anyone else have a baby who nurses for short amounts of time?? Seriously my boy will nurse five minutes and be done. He rarely goes past ten. He's gaining well though.

My daughter is 4 mos, weighs 17lbs!!...and eats one boob in about 6-7 mins and is done...so I pump the other side...she's a very efficient, good eater and sleeps like a dream...I'm one lucky mama!

My son does the same thing, I tough he was not eating proper but he can enty my boob in 6 minutes!!! He is 4 months and weighting 18 lbs

Yep! My 8 week old never actively eats longer than 10 minutes total. Sometimes she hangs out at my boob for a bit but she's done actually eating in no time! I also thought she wasn't eating enough but she gained three pounds in a month so she's fine lol

My son is so good at draining a boob. He can empty both sides in 6 minutes!!! Hungry boy!

Oh yes!!! My LO is 16 weeks and eats maybe 5 minutes on each side. He like chugs it! It's nice with other kids that he doesn't take forever.

My daughter does the same!! During the day is when I get longer feedings. But night 5-7mins and out for 3hrs. And she isn't under weight or anything😊😊

I call mine a professional slacker. He actively shallows for 3 or 4 minutes max then he's out like a light. His last appointment he has gone from 6 lbs 15 oz to 7 lbs 7 oz so I'm not worried lol!

My daughter was kind that for a while. She'll be 3 months in a week and has just now started nursing longer stretches. When she was first born I could barely get her to nurse 5 minutes it seemed like. I was so worried she wasn't getting enough but she gained weight perfectly fine. As long as he is gaining enough and having a good amount of wet diapers, he should be fine!

Yep. Mine is exactly the same. She's always been super business like with the boobs. 5 minutes and she's done. No joke. She is almost 7 months old now and is just now starting to stay on longer and comfort nurse.

My Son is now 18 months and has always been a short nurser. When I spoke to an LC about this she informed me as they age they gain strength in the jaws to get all they need from that nursing session. If your LO is gaining properly don't worry.
