How many calories are you eating in the 3rd trimester?
I'm 5'5 and weighed 130 before pregnancy. I'll be 31 weeks tomorrow, and at my last appointment 2 weeks ago I'd gained 27lbs (too scared to get on the scale since then!!). I hadn't wanted to gain more than 30 lbs total, but now I'm just hoping to not exceed 35. 😱 ((I didn't get sick at ALL during my first tri, so I gained a quick 5-7 lbs in the first 10ish weeks which I feel is what is going to put me over the 35-lb mark. After that point it seems like my weight gain has been right in line with the weight gain calculators online.))
I haven't consciously increased my calorie intake in the 3rd tri- I've pretty much been eating to hunger for my entire pregnancy. Lately I haven't been any more hungry than usual, so I don't think my overall intake is much more than it was in the 1st or 2nd tri. Tracking my calories, I'm eating between 1500-1700 cals per day. (Pre-pregnancy I maintained weight pretty well on 1200-1350).
So for you mamas who count your calories, what are your stats? Do you think 1500-1700 is too low for 3rd tri?? At the higher end of that range it does represent a 500 calorie increase from my usual/first tri diet, but I'm not eating 1700 most days. I don't want to force myself to eat if I'm not hungry and gain additional weight for no reason. Thoughts?
