I learned my lesson about early testing! I got three negative tests with the last at 10 dpo and got all upset because I was so sure I was of because I had such a strong sense of smell (that's my 1st sign, been pregnant 7x) so I gave up but then at 17dpo still no AF and then I got my +. I would wait until at the most two days before your AF is supposed to start. Any earlier could be too early to get a true reading.
